Reading Program Overview

The founders of Future U have spent the last twenty years successfully coaching students to become better critical readers for the ACT and SAT. Future U is using this vast experience to offer a cutting edge reading program designed to help younger students develop the critical reading skills necessary to be successful test-takers and students. Our focus will be to enhance each student's ability to understand, on the most fundamental level, the intended meaning of sentences, paragraphs and passages. Our program will teach students the following:

  • to use context clues to critically analyze complex sentences
  • to extract main ideas from sentences, paragraphs and passages
  • to become active and inferential readers
  • to develop predictive thinking skill sets
  • to develop vocabulary necessary for critical reading and successful test taking

We believe these skills will not only transform children into better test takers but also better students.

  • Ability to motivate and instill confidence in students of all levels and backgrounds.
  • Capacity to break down difficult concepts into simple, understandable techniques to help students answer questions in a more efficient manner.
  • Flexibility to customize teaching approach to fit various learning styles.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Previous academic, teaching and career success.
  • Experience in a variety of disciplines.

Once the selection process has been completed, our instructors are required to complete a rigorous and lengthy training program. Instructors are consistently monitored to ensure adherence to the values, principles and standards of excellence established by Future U.
